Wild Music Lab...

A catalytic space for creative collaboration and exploration across genre, time and place.

With a base in Galway, the creative heart of the west of Ireland, Wild Music Lab is a restless laboratory,
taking temporary root wherever we find innovative collaborators and curious presenting partners!

Who?

Wild Music Lab is a creative germination space for new collaborations and ideas, led by artistic director Sinéad Hayes, a conductor/curator with over a decade of immersion in the Irish/UK contemporary music and orchestral world.

How?

We bring diverse teams together to create high level, excellently executed cross-genre projects involving music, words and more. Working with composers, artists, writers, architects & musicians, our performance and education projects are designed to resonate with audiences, both existing and new.

Projects in Development 2026 - 29

The Creative Forge

Imagine creating a new music/words piece from scratch in 2/3 days during a festival or residency...and having an audience for the entire creative process?? We bring the team of composer/performer/production creatives together, create the project brief, and facilitate the process of creation right through to "final" performance, bringing your audiences along for every step of the white-hot creative journey!

The Beethoven Lab

2027 is the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death. To mark this, we are currently developing an engaging and entertaining series of explorations into three of LVB's symphonies: III, V & VII. Each exploration is approximately 75 minutes long (with optional interval) and includes live conducted ensemble. Ensemble size can vary from sextet to full chamber orchestra - depending on budget. We are also developing a parallel series specifically aimed at composers using Beethoven's music as a catalyst for creation of new works.

Beyond The Shamrock...

We are on a mission to banish the plastic shamrock for good (for 364 days a year at least!) Our Beyond the Shamrock project aims to change the narrative by bringing Irish contemporary and symphonic music to audiences around the world. We curate appealing programmes combining new Irish musical storytelling with audience-friendly canon works. We can supply scores and parts (and conductor!), as well as delivering audience and musician engagement workshops on site.

Music in Space

Site specific performances, site take-overs & workshops curated in collaboration with architects and space makers. Themes/focus can vary depending on local collaborators and performers. We also create locative audio experiences so that an echo of the performance remains long after the last live notes have been played.
